Amelia Dicks
Amelia Dicks is an avid forager for all things edible and medicinal found in the forests of Newfoundland, Canada. Being of Mi’kmaq descent, Amelia grew up learning from her parents how to identify, harvest, protect and respect the diverse natural resources around her. Coming from a home with 16 children, she also learned how to rely on wild animals, plants and fungi for survival. Most meals during her childhood consisted of something hunted, gathered or fished and ailments were often treated in the home using natural remedies.
Amelia has a deep connection to the land and a love for all things on it. Carrying on the traditions of her parents she hopes to share what she has learned with others, so that more people might come to value the richness and diversity of our natural world.
